Sandyston Township
Benjamin Depue bought land in Sandyston Township and moved there in 1791 from across the Delaware River in PA. The next four generatons farmed there for a hundred years until Claude left to seek his fortune in 1897. During that hundred years they intermarried with many of the other old families in the Township - Clark, Shay, Layton, Kyte, Everitt, Courtright, Stivers, Westbrook, Ennis - most of Dutch decent who had migrated down the river valley from Kingston, NY.
