Thomas Hurlbut & Sarah
Thomas, was born about 1610 in England. He came to American from Chippenham, Wiltshire, England. He may have come to America on the 'Bachelor' with Lion Gardner of Saybrook, CT.
They had seven children.

In 1658 he bought a house and garden plot in Wethersfield from Matthias St. John. He appears to have been a blacksmith with a shop in the village. He was also a Sergeant in the local militia. During the Pequot Wars in 1637 he was wounded by an arrow serving with Gardner. Active in town he held positions as grand juror and constable.
